1What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They're widely used to make sites work properly, remember your preferences, and give site owners useful information about how their site is used. This policy explains the cookies we use on holidaycompetitions.co.uk and why.
2How We Use Cookies
We use cookies to: keep you logged into your account, remember items in your basket, keep the site secure, understand how visitors use our site so we can improve it, and — where you've agreed — show you relevant marketing about our competitions.
3Types of Cookies We Use
| Category | Purpose | Can be disabled? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly Necessary | Let you log in, enter competitions, use your basket, and keep the site secure. The site won't work properly without these. | No — essential to the site functioning |
| Performance & Analytics | Help us understand how visitors use the site (e.g. Google Analytics), so we can improve it. Data is aggregated and doesn't identify you directly. | Yes |
| Functional | Remember your preferences, such as language or previously viewed competitions, for a smoother experience. | Yes |
| Advertising & Marketing | Used by us and our partners (e.g. Meta/Facebook Pixel, Google Ads) to show you relevant ads about our competitions on other sites, and to measure how well they perform. | Yes |
4Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies are placed by third parties whose services appear on our pages — for example, our payment processor, analytics providers, and advertising partners. We don't control these cookies directly; please refer to each provider's own privacy and cookie policy for more detail on how they use the data collected.
5Managing Your Cookie Preferences
When you first visit our site, you'll see a cookie banner where you can accept or manage non-essential cookies. You can change your preferences at any time using the cookie settings link in our site footer.
You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings — most browsers let you see what cookies you have and delete them individually, or block cookies from particular or all sites. Doing so may affect how parts of our site work, such as staying logged in or keeping items in your basket.
To opt out of interest-based advertising more broadly, visit youronlinechoices.com or aboutads.info/choices.
6Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the cookies we use or for legal reasons. Any changes will appear on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
